MISSION STATEMENT
The Raven Foundation’s mission is to initiate and support programs primarily in the Puget Sound region focusing on education, the environment and public policy. Raven gives priority to projects when a grant by the Foundation will have a significant impact on an important new initiative and the project does not have a strong funding constituency. A project involving the application of new technologies to carry out program goals is an area of special focus for the Foundation.
FUNDING GUIDELINES
The Foundation awards most of its grants to organizations identified by the Foundation’s officers and staff according to the mission of the Foundation and its current objectives. The Foundation accepts Letters of Inquiry from tax-exempt charitable organizations whose requests fall within the Foundation’s mission and objectives. Letters of Inquiry should be limited to two pages and should briefly outline the organization’s principal mission and the objectives, scope, cost, and timing of a proposed project. Detailed proposals should only be submitted if the Foundation requests such a proposal.
